The Kamino Uprising (18 BBY) was a failed uprising by the Kaminoan Resistance against the Galactic Empire in which Kaminoans sympathetic to the cause of the former Galactic Republic bred an army of clones to fight the Empire. The Empire, led by Boba Fett, destroyed the clone army and the cloning facilities and shot down the LAAT Gunships used by the Kaminoan clone masters to attempt to escape.
Prelude[]
The planet of Kamino was used by the Galactic Republic to clone the bounty hunter Jango Fett and create a large army of clone troopers during the Clone Wars of 22 BBY-19 BBY, with the clone troopers being well-trained. However, the fall of the Republic led to the ending of Kamino's purpose, as the new Galactic Empire recruited non-clone humans from settled planets within their domains. The Empire kept Kamino under their control through fear, as they had with other systems; in response to the Empire's oppression, rebellious Kaminoans formed the Kaminoan Resistance and recruited "anti-troopers" to fight the Empire. Darth Vader dispatched the bounty hunter Boba Fett, who was knowledgeable about his hometown of Tipoca City, to lead the 501st Legion in destroying the clone facility.
Battle[]
Boba Fett led the stormtroopers of the Empire in the assault on the cloning facility, and the stormtroopers destroyed the locking mechanism to the facility. The fighting was waged on the platforms between the stormtroopers and the anti-troopers as Boba Fett recovered his father's DNA and destroyed the life support systems, ending the chances of the Kaminoans creating any more clones. The leaders of the Kaminoan Resistance sensed that the battle was lost and decided to flee in LAAT Gunships, so heavy troopers used their rocket launchers to shoot down the LAATs before the Kaminoans could escape the planet. The Empire was victorious, destroying the clones and enabling Emperor Palpatine to begin using regular humans for military service.
